ACCRA, Sept 9 (The African Portal) – Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Special Aide to former Vice-President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has said that Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye, will become even louder following his arrest by the police.
Abronye was picked up by the Ghana Police Service over what they described as “offensive conduct conducive to the breach of public peace,” according to a statement issued by the police.
The arrest sparked reactions from NPP members, many of whom took to social media to express their views. Abronye is currently in custody, pending his arraignment in court.
He was remanded on Tuesday and is expected to reappear before the court on Friday, September 12, 2025. The police had confirmed his arrest earlier on Monday, September 8.
Reacting to the arrest and continued detention, Dennis Miracles Aboagye wrote on Facebook on Tuesday afternoon:
“Whoever is advising this NDC government on these political arrests surely is an enemy to the party. To think that persecuting someone like Abronye can actually shut him up or intimidate others in 2025? Lol. He will get even louder after this.”
Abronye is alleged to have made certain remarks on his Ohia TV platform, which the police described as “offensive conduct conducive to the breach of public peace.”
