LILONGWE, Dec 15 (The African Portal) – Vice President Jane Ansah delivered the closing remarks at the virtual Extraordinary SADC Organ Troika Summit on 15th December 2025, focusing on the urgent political and security challenges facing Madagascar.

In her address, she warmly acknowledged the active participation of the representatives from Eswatini and Tanzania, highlighting their commitment to supporting regional efforts in addressing the crisis and emphasizing the importance of solidarity among SADC member states.

She underlined that the decisions taken during the summit, guided by the Report of the Technical Fact-Finding Mission, are pivotal to restoring peace and stability in Madagascar and called for immediate action to ensure these recommendations are implemented effectively.

Vice President Ansah emphasised the need for all stakeholders, both regional and international, to collaborate fully, stressing that timelines must be strictly observed to demonstrate SADC’s accountability and resolve to the Malagasy people.

She highlighted Malawi’s leadership role as Chair of the Organ and noted that Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, as Chairperson of the SADC Organ, will closely monitor progress, while urging all participants to remain engaged and committed to the implementation process.

The Vice President took time to commend the Technical Fact-Finding Mission, led by its principal team members, for their diligence and comprehensive reporting, which formed the foundation for the summit’s decisions and recommendations.

She reiterated the urgency of translating the summit’s decisions into tangible actions that not only resolve the immediate crisis but also strengthen the region’s image of unity and support for Madagascar.

Vice President Ansah thanked all participants for their active engagement, noting that their contributions are critical to achieving lasting solutions and reaffirming SADC’s role as a stabilising force in the region.

She called for sustained collaboration, dialogue, and oversight to ensure that peace, law, and order are restored, urging all member states to demonstrate leadership and commitment beyond the summit discussions.

In closing, Vice President Ansah expressed hope that the summit would serve as a turning point in addressing the political and security situation in Madagascar, and she thanked all attendees for their dedication to regional peace and stability.
