LAGOS, Sept 24 (The African Portal) – A Nigerian mother of three has spoken about how her life changed after a road accident led to the amputation of one of her legs.
The victim, Opeyemi Omoboriowo, said adapting to life as an amputee had been difficult, but she continued to care for her children and manage daily struggles.
The woman told local media the Punch that her challenges had been compounded by a lack of support from her husband, whom she accused of mocking her disability and insulting her while engaging in extramarital affairs.
Her story has drawn attention to the wider struggles faced by people with disabilities in Nigeria, many of whom face stigma as well as limited access to healthcare and social support.
