The conference, being hosted in Accra by Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, is expected to bring together heads of state, government officials and global policymakers.

Participants will discuss ways to advance international efforts aimed at securing historical recognition, reparatory justice, accountability and restitution for the lasting effects of slavery and colonial exploitation.

The meeting forms part of broader global discussions on addressing historical injustices linked to the transatlantic slave trade and colonialism.
