The nomination reflects his growing influence within Ghana’s entertainment and creative industries, where he is known for blending legal expertise with arts advocacy.

Dr Arhin, who holds a PhD and a Bachelor of Laws degree, lectures at the University of Education, Winneba’s School of Creative Arts. He also works as a creative arts business development and intellectual property consultant, advising artists and industry professionals on copyright, trademarks and sustainable business models.

Speaking after the announcement, he said the recognition went beyond personal achievement.

“This nomination is a recognition of the importance of structured knowledge, intellectual property rights and strategic business development in sustaining the creative arts,” he said.

He added that entertainment commentary should be grounded in education and advocacy rather than opinion alone.

The nomination follows his win as National Entertainment Pundit of the Year at the 2023–2024 Foklex Media Awards, cementing his reputation as a consistent voice in national entertainment discourse.

Beyond media analysis, Dr Arhin has been an outspoken advocate for the protection of creators’ rights in Ghana and across Africa. He regularly organises public lectures, seminars and workshops aimed at simplifying complex legal issues for creatives.

His work has also gained international recognition. He previously served as a national expert for UNESCO’s Aschberg Programme for Artists and Cultural Professionals, contributing to policy initiatives focused on improving the social and economic rights of artists worldwide.

Industry observers say his strength lies in translating legal and academic concepts into practical guidance for musicians, filmmakers and visual artists.

As preparations continue for the RTP Awards ceremony, his nomination has renewed attention on the role of intellectual property and business knowledge in shaping the future of Ghana’s entertainment industry.
