ACCRA, Oct 6 (The African Portal) – Ghanaian cyclist and sports scientist Emmanuel Akoa Adjei has paid a courtesy visit to Ghana’s Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts after completing a 105-day solo cycling journey from Munich, Germany, to his hometown of Teshie in Accra, to raise awareness and support for education in underprivileged communities.

Chief Director of the Ministry, Joseph Kwasi Amoah, who received Adjei on behalf of Minister Abla Dzifa Gomashie, commended his effort as an example of how sports and culture can promote social change.

Adjei, who lives in Munich, said the journey aimed to mobilize resources for children in marginalized areas through a partnership with the NGO EduSports, which operates in 11 regions and 50 communities across Ghana. The initiative provides books, laptops, Wi-Fi kits and training programmes to improve access to education.

He urged public and private sector stakeholders to support the project, saying the journey had ended but the mission to promote education was continuing.

The Ministry said it was interested in future collaborations that link culture, education and youth development.
