ACCRA, Oct 26 (The African Portal) – Several people are feared dead and others critically injured in a road accident that occurred near the Kasoa tollbooth in Ghana’s Central Region.
The crash happened on Sunday, October 26, when a Sprinter minibus travelling toward Kasoa collided with the rear of a Jeep 4×4 that was reportedly reversing on the highway, eyewitnesses said.
The impact caused the fully loaded minibus to somersault several times before landing in a mangled state. Some passengers were killed instantly, while others were trapped inside the wreckage.
Emergency workers and residents rushed to the scene to help rescue survivors. Paramedics at the Ngleshie Amanfro Polyclinic said they struggled to secure a referral for one of the critically injured victims, as no major hospital was immediately available to receive the patient — delaying transfer efforts for nearly an hour.
Police have not yet released an official casualty figure, and investigations into the cause of the crash are under way. The African Portal will continue to monitor the situation.
